Modern House Kit Dream: Can it happen when banks and lenders still haven't caught up to green building technology?

I have much enjoyed speaking with a certain scientist in a certain northern environ as he, and his family, journey on their quest for an energy efficient, affordable green home.

We were speaking this week about construction loans, and how they have not caught up to understanding the comparable value in energy efficient, small footprint homes built with structural insulated panels.

I suggested that even if they didn't end up with our house kit, why not follow their quest?
